Description

These oneoff vases are often made in limited series that explore a particular shape or surface. It could be a type of collar, a special type of curve or foot, a type of glaze with a special texture, or something else entirely.
What is special is that each time, it is a series of studies that are limited to one or a few vases, where no two are alike. Often there are several glazes in layers, which makes it almost impossible to repeat the result.

The vases are handmade in stoneware clay on a potterswheel, trimmed, dried, fired the first time, then glazed in my homemade glazes and fired again.

This particular vase is thrown in so-called black clay. However, the color is actually closer to a warm dark brown. There are light grains in the clay, called chamotte, which make the clay very stable, while also adding a fine texture. In addition, there are a few light splashes of white porcelain on the surface for contrast.
The vase is unglazed and NOT waterproof. This clay is generally not waterproof, with or without glaze, as it is very coarse due to the content of befor montioned chamotte. Therefore, this is a vase for dry flowers and branches. Alternatively, a glass of water can be placed inside the vase, if you want to have fresh flowers in it.

And always remember that colors and textures are super hard to accurately depict on screen. I do my very best, but different screens always give slightly different results.
